After growing out my hair for a really long time, I cut it all off into a long bob a few months ago. I had been left with the worst case of 'baby hair' around my entire hairline and there was just no way to make it look good. So I cut it off, figuring that the shorter length would mean I could wear it out and therefore cover my lovely hairy halo. 

Now that I have been wearing my bob for a while I am starting to think about going even shorter, although I'm not sure how short I am wanting to go. I keep floating between getting a short bob or a long crop - but I can't decide! The above pics are some of the images I have been trawling for inspiration. Both sides make a good case, but I think I am leaning toward the latter. What do you think?

Summer Hair

Now that summer is officially here, and with plenty of humidity to boot, I am fining myself wanting to put my hair up almost every day. I hate when my hair falls on the back of my neck when I am feeling overheated, and pulling my hair up is the only way (other than a serious haircut) to solve the problem. I usually pull my hair up into a messy bun either high on my head or low at the back, but this summer I am feeling inspired to try some of these more sophisticated up-dos.

Today I thought I would share some of my favourite make-up looks from New York Fashion Week so far. I am not one to shy away from a bright lip so there is no surprise that I love the make-up look on the Marc by Marc Jacobs runway. However, the other looks that I am loving  involve a natural lip and a subtly smokey eye; something I am yet to master. Whenever I have tried a smokey eye at home, I always end up looking like I haven't slept for a few days. Given this is such a big make-up trend for Fall 2012 I am determined to make sure I get this look right. Practice makes perfect, or so they say.

Embracing My Roots

I have hair that grows ridiculously fast. "What are you complaining about?", I hear you ask. Well, I am going broke getting my hair highlighted as often as I need to, and have decided that enough is enough. I am going to embrace the fact that my hair, that may have been naturally blonde when I was five, is no longer naturally blonde. So I am going back to my roots, literally. Well a better version of my roots actually. The above image (and others on my Pinterest page) are some of the ladies I have been looking to for inspiration.
